About
Whimshot is a turn-based artillery game with a soft heart. Think the classic tank-duel formula — angle, power, arc — dressed as a storybook meadow full of chunky, hand-drawn critter tanks. The opening arena, Blooming Meadows, is wildflowers, mushrooms and rolling green hills, and the whole thing is built for a couch and a couple of friends.
How It Plays
- Charge and release. Hold Space to run the oscillating power meter, release to fire. Read the arc, correct on the next turn.
- Drive and aim.
A/Dto reposition,W/Sto raise and lower the barrel,Tfor aim assist,Rto recenter, drag or pinch for free look. - Two shot types per tank.
1fires the light shot,2fires the signature shot — each with its own impact behavior and turn delay.Eskips the turn. - Local hotseat for 2–4 players, or a vs-bots mode when there's nobody on the other cushion.
The Roster
Twelve tanks split across Balanced, Attack, Support and Utility roles, each rated on power, blast and speed:
- Leaf Lancer — reliable all-rounder; Sap Bolt for impact, Twin Blade splits into a pair of blades.
- Mushroom Mortar, Crystal Cannon, Ember Cub, Thorn Tank, Starfall Siege — attack specialists.
- Acorn Artillery and Nimbus Nomad — support.
- Dandelion Drifter, Stoneshell, Clockwork Cannon — utility and control.
- Bubble Blaster — a second balanced pick with a lighter touch.
Design Intent
Artillery games are usually mean. Whimshot keeps the depth — trajectory reading, role picks, turn economy — and strips the hostility out of the presentation. Rounded shapes, a warm cream and meadow-green palette, and tanks with faces.
